Nursing assistants are key members of the healthcare team. Jobs may be found in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home health agencies. Learn basic care skills including physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients. Course covers procedures,communications and inter-personal relations, observation, charting and reporting, care planning, safety and
infection control, anatomy/physiology, nutrition, patient feeding, ethics, death and dying. Prepares you in multiple skills  to care for patients of various ages with emphasis on geriatric nursing. Applies theory through laboratory experience for health care technicians to work in home health and long-/short-term facilities. All students are required to submit to a background check and drug screen prior to attending clinical sessions. Evening classroom lectures will be held at Jackson River Technical Center and clinical practice will be accommodated at local care facilities for real-world experience and hands-on training. Textbooks, background check and drug screen included in tuition.
