Learn Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and advance yourself with the necessary skills to be a successful career welder. Built according to local welding industry demands with a focus on fabrication/welding shop conditions, the Professional Welder SMAW program provides a well-rounded experience to help you get to work quickly!
SMAW, also known as stick welding, is arguably the most highly sought-after, versatile and widely used welding process used across manufacturing and construction industries.
This training starts with foundational essentials in Safety, General Shop Knowledge and Practice, Tools and Equipment, Blueprint Reading and Welding Symbols, Oxy-Fuel Cutting and Welding, and Plasma Cutting. Tuition includes all instructional materials and qualification testing for SMAW 1, 2 & 3G. Welding shield and jacket are provided, but you will need to bring appropriate footwear, gloves, safety glasses, and personal hand tools as outlined by the instructor at the beginning of the class.
