Session 1 - Understanding Masonry

ClassGraphic If you have ever wanted to tackle a masonry project yourself, but lacked the confidence, this course is a game-changer. Absolutely no experience necessary! Fundamental skills training in masonry construction through classroom instruction and labs with hands-on experience using real-world materials. Learn how to mix mortar, lay brick, block and stone, and
perform masonry repairs.
 

Session 1: Understanding Masonry
Class meets for 4 hours of interactive lecture and discussion with an exploration of the history and
development of masonry as a building method, an examination of masonry materials and components, and an overview of masonry tools and equipment. 2-hour lab gives you the opportunity to becoming familiar with real masonry tools, hand-mix mortar, and use a trowel to spread mortar.


$5.00 materials fee collected on the first day of class.
